The 2016 NFL Draft: Announcing the first Rams-centric rumor

Friday, November 6, 2015 2:24 AM

Surely this has got to be the first Rams-centric 2016 NFL Draft rumor.

For those Rams fans whose patience with Nick Foles is wearing thin – this writer included – Goodbread’s tweet makes for positive news in that not only is management evidently quite aware of Foles’s shortcomings but also that the issue may be addressed in the upcoming draft.

On the other hand, the dispatching of Dolphins and Rams scouts to the Memphis-Navy game is probably merely a formality; Ryan Tannenhill just signed a $100 million extension with Miami, while St. Louis also extended Foles (albeit for well less).

Further, as at least one source reckons:

…The Tigers quarterback is having a huge season and has led Memphis to an undefeated season thus far. Lynch has been gaining interest around the NFL, and the Broncos, Texans and Bills have already called his high school coach to find out more about the player.

Lynch [has reportedly become] the top prospect at his position in the 2016 NFL Draft. He has passed California’s Jared Goff and Michigan State’s Connor Cook in the process...

Assuming the team stays in the playoff chase and the apparent demand from presumably higher-up and needier teams – the Texans particularly come to mind – makes the drafting of Lynch seem highly unlikely for the Rams.

But Connor Cook, eh…?
